I'm building my console peasant friend a PC, is this compatible?

Solution

Eh?

The processor on the link is an i5 4570, way more powerful than any I3

And you can get a GTX 960 for less than $200 in places where rebates are offered.

Oh I just saw the $400 budget,

The only way to make that budget work is if you have a Microcenter store in your area. They have hella deals on core parts, like insane deals. I built a PC for a friend with a fx 6300 and a GTX 960 for around $400 there.

Would this build be able to support modern PC games on decent graphics with a steady FPS? I want his build to obviously be better than his Xbox...

I am not aware... But I just want him to be able to run GTA 5, league of legends, CS:GO, and some other low end games with no fps issues.

Yeah that 750 ti, as good of a budget card as it is, just won't be dazzling anyone. Modern games on anything higher than low-medium settings will not have solid fps :/

How much do we need to make it dazzling? a GTX 970 and an i7? or can we still make it budgetary and work well?

Alright, last question.

I bought a GTX 980 for myself so I am donating him my old 760- takes out money to add to other components. What I need to know is will a gigabyte windforce GTX 760 (3 fans, rather large), and the heat sink all fit inside the case and on to this mini ATX motherboard? because if not we need to find a case or motherboard or both large enough.

Ive figured out the best mix. Here is what Im building for him!

Your links are just blank Ppartpicker sheets....

Almost any medium case that can sit an ATX mobo can fit that card, depends on where the drive cages are. You're gonna have to look for yourself, see where the PCI slot for the GPU will be and how it lines up with the cages in the case.
