Hey, community!
I've been reading threads in which people claim any GTX 980 card is overkill with 1080p displays.
Fine. Let's assume that's right.
Now, what if someone like me (who has relatively weak financial power and no room for error, has been saving for two years and finally has the money to even buy a 980ti) wanted to do some future proofing INSTEAD of getting something that is JUST ENOUGH?
I'm decided on ASRock Z97 extreme 6, Core i7 4790K and 16GB of RAM, while I already have a 1080p ASUS VG248QE monitor that runs at 144mhz which I ain't changing.
Will the best GTX 970 on the market guarantee Ultra settings in heavy games for 5-6 years? Or should I look to some juggernaut like ASUS 980 Matrix Platinum? I'm no cheap bastard, and in spite of my not so full bank account, I'm willing to shell out as much as it takes on a revving rig that drags me for a very long time.
Please note that I can do this only once every 5 or so years, so, help this friend of yours with that in mind.
Thanx!
