So I plan to use this pc anywhere to 5-10 years. This board would look incredibly sexy with my black and white pc theme, the 5 year warranty also seems great. Other components I plan to use it with:

-Intel i7 4790K (overclocking)
-ASUS GeForce GTX 970 Turbo x2 (in SLI)
-up to 32, maybe 64gb of ram but I doubt it
-the beautiful NZXT H440 case

I just plan this pc to be my full time machine through the rest of my school years and into uni. I plan to use it to play games, 3d work, animation, and everything else I do. So is this the board for me?

i have the older z77 and it a nice mb. the shield act as a dust cover to keep dust out of the mb. one thing i would look at is do you want the older haswell cpu or the newer skylake cpu thta dropping in week or two. the haswell 1150 pin mb will be going end of life when skylake drops. with a skylake mb there may be one or two more cpu for the 1151 mb. it come down to speed and any new hardware features that are on the new mb.

So I should wait for the new Skylake architecture to come out before buying a mobo?
