Hi everyone, I have been having an issue with my hard drive latley. This all started back when I bought a recording device called the "Elgato Game Capture HD60". When I bought it, when I'd open the software to start recording console games, the "Please Insert Disk Into Drive E" problem would pop up and it gave me three options being, cancel, retry and one other I can't quite remember. To get the message off the screen I would have to rapidly click cancel (because each time I clicked it the window instantly popped back up) and after about 20 times of doing that it would stop popping up and I could record. Now today I downloaded another recording software called Mirllis Action, now when I try to record a PC game called "Dirty Bomb" that same message pops up only this time it's much worse and pretty much screws everything up. While in game if I hit the recording hot key (F9) it starts recording for about 3 seconds and then all the sudden the game minimizes and then that message pops up. The difference between when the Elgato did this, and when this does it, is that now I get no recording out of it and it really sucks. Can someone please tell me a possible fix? All answers are greatly appreciated. If you have any further questions about anything to help with this issue then please, ask.

Solution
Try making a new folder to record into. It seems like you didn't have the correct permissions. Say make a folder on your Desktop and try to record there.
Do you have a drive letter E: on your system? It appears that the default save location for these recording programs is E:, I'm assuming it's either an optical drive (which isn't writable or have a disk in it), or a USB drive which is no longer in the system.

Actually you turned a light on in my head. I used to have a usb drive, and I think that it was the E drive! The problem is, is that my dog kind of chewed it and I don't think I can put it into my computer to delete it. What do I do?

You should have a preferences, options, or settings menu in the software you are using. Go into it and find where you can select the destination for your recordings. It sounds like it's set to E: now, you'll want to set this to another drive letter on your system. Preferably one that isn't removable so that your dog can't chew it up ;).
