Just got this motherboard, and I installed the audio drivers so I can hear the sound, but my mic is not working. I am not sure why.

Right click on the speaker icon next to the time on windows desktop.
Select recording devices.
If you have rear audio ports, and two front ones on your tower case you will see two references to Mic as recording devices.

By right clicking and setting one or the other to default recording device
You mic should work windows needs to know if the mic is plugged into the rear or front audio ports provided on the motherboard or the front of your case.

Did that, did not work. It says it is working fine, but it is not actually working. I know the mic is fine, since it worked on my previous motherboard just fine.

Ok, have you installed the audio driver suite that came on the motherboard Dvd.
Or have you just installed windows and it detected the audio chip of your motherboard and installed a windows stock driver.
?

If it did try installing the driver provided on the support dvd that came with the motherboard.
Or remove the Realtek audio app software, and try it with the windows stock driver.
The app and the default windows driver sometimes conflict when both are installed.

I never had to reinstall windows, and I do not have a external dvd reader thingy.
