I am probably using the wrong terminology here and that is why I can't come across an answer, but let me know if this is possible or if you can lead me in the correct direction. I want to add a password protected Wifi connection with full access and speed for my wife and I to use (which is not a problem), but i also want a secondary password protected Wifi connection for guests only where I can restrict the download speeds and restrict access to any configurations, which I cannot figure out how to do. I am hoping there is a way to do this without having to go through and giving each device special permission, but rather the permission is granted by which "SSID" is being connected to. My router is a Netgear cg3000dv2-rg. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

If you want a guest wifi you will have to have a different router. It does not look like that router supports a guest WIFI.

I don't recommend a combo modem/router for exactly reasons such as this. You want features on the router but have to "throw away" the modem also. Get a discrete modem and a new router if you want guest WIFI. Even with guest WIFI you may not be able to bandwidth limit it as you desire.

No, that is what I did not want to have to go through where I give each device specific permission.

Sounds like this is the answer to my question, I was sure hoping that the modem would offer a guest wifi service, but I guess not. Thank you for the quick responses guys. This seems like a great website, been lurking on it for quite a while and have found great information.
