I am going to build a computer in Q1,2016. I have got two choices. One of them is going for a 4790k with a 980ti. And the mobo will be gigabyte z97x gaming 3. The other one is going for a 5820k plus a gtx980 with asrock x99 extreme3. I spend a lot of time on PC gaming. I might decide to upgrade my hardware about 5 years later. Is it like LGA 2011 has more future to upgrade? Which one should I choose? Or if there will be any new hardwares release at Q1,2016 so I can plan a new list of hardware. Thank you.

Solution
4790K with 980TI. 4790K is stronger in terms of single-core performance. The 5820K has 2 more cores, though. However, the 4790K would be more worth it as you won't need more than like 2-3 cores for gaming.

The benchmarks will be better with the 4790K and 980TI.

You could also try waiting for the newer Skylake processors Intel will release.

Both builds allow SLI.
