Hello, I just bought a Samsung 850 EVO and wanted to move my Windows 8.1 to it from my WD HDD. I tried to use the cloning software from Samsung but it would not work because my used space in my HDD is to much space for my SSD. Even when I excluded all the files the software would allow me to, it still was 300gb over the amount. So what I am asking is, can i just drag and drop my OS into my SSD? Or is there some other software i could use to do this.

Well, i was going to do a full restore of my pc, but I have the problem with Windows 8.1 where apps close as soon as you try to open them. That includes settings so I can't do a restore. And I don't have a disk drive to reinstall Windows.
