I was pretty certain that I had a z97 asus pro, but after looking at the z97 asus pro online, it looks exactly like my mobo except it has a brushed gold look, while mine is silver.

look at this and judge for yourself which particular model I have (3.1, wi-fi cc, base model?)

The 4+4 pin atx 12v is top left of board between the corners of the silver heatsinks.

Did you get a bargain?? Yes as the cheapest ice seen it is $250!!

Will you usexall the extra features ?? No very doubtful.

The manual & all drivers are available on the site link I posted - download & save to USB ready to install once you have windows running ( you will need the lan / Ethernet driver installed to actually get online in the first place)

Wlc is wireless lan control - you can control the PC from anywhere via Asus weblinks.
NFC is an always on Bluetooth instant pairing technology for phone connections, wireless speakers etc.

did I get a good deal by paying only 110 dollars? What does NFC and WLC do?

also, WHAT do the ez xmp, IPU, and EPU switches do? they are these tiny little switches on the mobo, I think I may have accidentally hit one of them?

Should they all be to the left? Aka, the 'off' mode?

EDIT: also since the board came 'as-is', I didn't get a I/O shield sadly. I should be okay for a couple weeks without one right? (too poor just blew all my cash, literally)

on my old pc, I also plugged one of two CPU cables into a 2x2 pins near the CPU..I don't see a 2x2, or two 2x2 pins near the CPU on this mobo.

EDIT: Do note, it did not come with a support disk or anything.

DO I need to download the drivers onto a usb stick while first booting it up or something?

or should I be fine booting up windows 7, and then manually downloading drivers while online?

Should I be worried about updating the bios? Or since its a z97 the bios should already be up to date?

thank you madmatt! =)

My final questions, are do you know what positions the ez xmp, epu, and ipu switches on the mobo should be in? epu/ipu are to the left, and ez xmp is to the right, I'm worried I hit one of them. =)

ALSO, isn't there an option in bios to update the bios?

lastly...there is a little thing next to the 'attenna' pins called Wi-Fi go. The Fry's employee told me that was effectively the NIC card..meaning all I had to do was use the attennas from my old pc, screw them to those two things, and that I'd have Wi-Fi access to my network.

EDIT: I downloaded the manual, appararently its a wireless LAN adaptor that allows me to connect wirelessly to the my network.

Any ideas whether this is good or not? I was just curious why it was so small.
