I broke my netbook screen and I wish to access it's hard drive, so I removed the hard drive from my laptop and used an ICYBOX external hard drive case to connect it to my computer. It is detected (drivers get installed) but I cannot see it in the my computer tab. It appears in the system manager window though...

Solution
Maybe on installation, it was assigned C:\ as a non-negotiable drive letter. Pull it up in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management and see if it will allow you to alter that drive letter.

C:\ is like the Highlander - there can be only one!

I assume that your netbook was running Windows on it. If that is the case, then as above, check the Disk management and verify if a drive letter was assigned to it when it was detected, if not but detected, then assign one. What you could also try is connecting the hard drive inside the computer with a sata cable if any available and your system should detect it as well.
