Luckyb17 :
So I'm torn between these two 8 core processors. I have everything I need for a very nice AMD build involving an R9 280x for GPU power. Both of these FX CPUs seem very good and very close but I don't know which one is better for practical purposes (those purposes being gaming). The 8350 is 30 dollars more than the 8320 and they both seem so very similar. I also worry about bottle necking since my GPU is rather powerful. So for practical purposes which one is the right way to go for my gaming machine, especially with big games coming out like Fallout 4, the division, etc?
Thank you
A powerful GPU isn't exactly a
need for an AMD CPU. Also a R9 280X is a good price : performance GPU, however it isn't exactly "powerful" for this generation.
Also the CPU will not bottleneck the GPU don't worry ^^
Anyways the difference is that the FX 8320 is clocked lower than the FX 8350. Basically the FX 8350 is factory overclocked, so if you want to max out the clock speeds of the FX 8300 series a FX 8350 will give you slightly better results. However if you are only going to do light overclocking a FX 8320 would be a better price : performance choice.
If you do not have a good motherboard and do not have decent cooling a FX 8350 will do better.
