Nvidia's next gen cards

I heard Nvidia is releasing a new card next year and now I'm kind of concerned. I've been planning on buying a 970 so I don't want to buy one and then hear their releasing a super-fps-crusher-codename-death-eagle-core situation. I'm in a fairly big need of a new GPU and would like to buy one as soon as I can, but do you think I should wait until they release their new card? Thanks!

worry not. nvidia release new card every year. so worrying about the card you're going to buy will get obsolete in a year is a bit useless since it will happen anyway. so just get what you need right now and be happy with it. if you keep thinking about upcoming future product 'that will blow the current one in both performance and price' (and it will)...

i think AMD said that Fury nano will be faster than 290X. that's mean it will be faster than 390X. seeing 390X priced at 420 i don't think it Fury nano can be compared to 970 price wise.

Impossible to say before they actually release it.
Since OP didn't specify a budget, one can assume he might be willing to buy a faster card if it's worth the cost, something that might very well be the case with the nano.

That's fairly irrelevant, Nano would be a different beast entirely, most likely placing somewhere between 970 and 980 while performing better at higher resolutions.

Waiting and seeing what the competition has to offer is well motivated in my opinion.
