Is there any way/technique to test if the motherboard is bad/dead?

The other week when I turned on my cpu, it kept on restarting and when it finally managed to stay on, it would not show anything on my monitor except a blank /black screen.

I decided to look for someone on craigslist to fix it. He determined that the motherboard was bad and I eventually paid him to rebuild my cpu with another motherboard because I wanted to have my cpu up and running asap.

I got my ASUS P8P67LE B3 Revision motherboard back and was curious if it really was the motherboard, or if it was something else. My cpu has actually done this before, where it would start and restart and sometimes not turn on for awhile, but it would eventually turn on normal after. Except this time it would not start, which is why I had to get it fixed. Anyway, I was just wondering if there is anyway I can test this myself before I toss this in the trash.

Thanks,

Solution
Not easily.
You would have to install cpu, ram, graphics, and a psu to boot into bios.
If your pc got fixed properly, I would assume that the motherboard was bad.
It is not worth anything these days, so trash it.

Ah I see. Ok. Thanks for the quick response. The motherboard is kind of old anyway, it still uses those big cables.
