Need a quick check here. I'm helping my buddy build his first PC and the motherboard doesn't recognize the GPU.

Specs:
i5 4960k
Asus Z97I-Plus
EVGA 960 GTX
G Skill 8GB
Seasonic M12 620

I've updated the Bios to the latest version. We went and bought another 960 to test insure no DOA. I've changed power connections on the PSU. I don't think the PSU is bad. Appears to be starting the GPU and other components. I've changed the BIOS to set GPU as primary display adapter. All no luck. The last thing I can think of is the motherboard's PCI slot.

Did I miss anything else?

Yeah tried that with both GPUs. There's only one 8 pin connection into the 960 GTX. The only thing I have left is if the PSU is bad (doubt that) or the motherboard. Probably going to be making a trip a Microcenter.
