I don't understand why my Z97-A with my 4790k only turbos to 4.2 under full load my maxmus hero IIV would also turbo to 4.4 anyone have any ideas

The max turbo you're reporting is the chips base 4 core turbo speed. Alot of motherboards will ramp up the 4 core turbo speed to 4.4, but that's not intel's stock setting, which is 4.2 for 4 cores, 4.3 for 3 cores, and 4.4 for 1 and 2 cores respectively. If you want a higher setting, you'll have to manually take over motherboard settings instead of leaving them in auto.
