Hey everyone. I finally ordered a hyper 212 evo on newegg for my fx 6300!! yay. So I also want to get some new thermal compound. Iv never owned any of the good stuff. Always that radio shack crap or what came on the cpu heat sinks. So what do yall recommend? I have seen AS5, Mx-2 3 and 4, tx-4 and that noctua stuff. I read the mx out does the as5 and the as5 has a 200 hour burn in or what ever. Iv seen antec nano diamond. What do yall use cuz I want some good stuff this time!

I settled on the Antec Nano Diamond.
Although I only saw a few degrees difference on max load between it and the CM stock paste.

Biggest thing with the 212 evo is to fill the groves by the heatpipes on the base before mounting. Otherwise most of your paste will fill in the groves and you will not get full coverage.
So many people use the grain of rice method without filling the groves and end up with high temps and have to reapply and reseat the cooler.

Nice article here about it

Ah your right. Great tip!. Thank you for the info on filling those up.

So im going to go with the MX-4 I think. I need some new case fans to, some that push tons of air. Price isn't an issue. Any recommendations on good case fans?

The stuff that comes with the evo is exceptionally good - you get a fairly big recloseable syringe & I would put it on a par with anything out there.
You really don't need to buy any.
There is no burn-in on any silver based compounds - they never set & work instantlybfrom application.
