Hello
My hard rive new ish western Green digital 2TB and a western digital Blue, both show much less space available then there should be. So for the 2TB it says 200GB left of 1.81TB and then when i go in to the Hard rive it says only 140GB has been used which sounds about right, so it doesn't need defrag i tried that but what do i do?

Hi there Valkyrie1384,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :(

Is the whole drive allocated? You can check that out if you go to Disk Management.
Have you scanned the drive with antivirus/malware tools? If you haven't you can do that.
In case the HDD is an OS one, you can adjust your system restore settings. Just delete previous restore points and reduce the space allocated for that: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-windows-7/
I guess you can use some third party tool to analyze disk space.

This is an useful link on freeing up some HDD space: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/

Let me know how this goes,
