My Windows 8.1 key has been blocked and my copy is not recognized as genuine on my SSD. Will this fix my problem?

I upgraded to an SSD, and installed windows on it without deactivating it in my HDD first, now my key is no longer genuine.

I also already wiped my HDD.

Could I REINSTALL Windows on my HDD, use my key to activate it again (hopefully it will since it recognizes this hard drive?) and then manually deactivate it through command prompt?
Then I would finally install Windows again on my SSD, and wipe my hard drive again.

This is often happens when buying from an unknown source.
The 'seller' acquires licenses from who knows where. He sells them. He was not authorized to sell them, nor were they for resale. At all. Eventually, Microsoft deactivates those license keys.

Usually, those licenses were academic, MSDN, TechNet, or a corporate castoff. None of which are legal for resale.

MS has blocked that license. Why? That was not a valid license. That dude sold that license probably 50 times. There probably are a crapload of people that bought from him (or others in that reddit), going through exactly the same thing as you are...

The phone robot is how I found out my key had been blocked. I tried activating it this way first, and it did not work

How to proceed?
Cut your losses, put that 'purchase' into the column labeled "Never do this again", and buy a valid OS from an authorized retailer. Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter, etc...
(and no, ebay or G2A are not an authorized retailers)
