I just had gotten a 1333mhz 8GB RAM, but I already had a 4GB RAM in the computer when I bought it a few years ago. I think the 4GB RAM runs only 667mhz, so my question is..
Will my 1333mhz RAM be compatible with 667mhz? I've heard that it only shows 667mhz because it has double data rate. I haven't installed the 8GB stick yet.

(Note: I don't know much about this RAM stuff)

Solution
If DDR3and 667 that's the true freq and it should be a 1333 stick effective data rate is true freq x 2. Look at the stick in CPU-Z (free app) in the memory tab if it shows 667 it's a 1333 stick, can confirm with your new stick ;) and sorry but there are no guarantees when mixing DRAM from different packages, even if the same exact model

So it will be compatible? :D
CPU-Z does show that it's 667mhz and so do other programs (Speccy).

Maybe giving the serial/model numbers will help,
The one I'm using right now: Kingston 99U5471-020.A00LF
The one I bought: Kingston 99U5471-052.A00LF
