As far as Pre-Builds go, is this good for the money?

I've been wanting to get a new pc for a while, and I know that everyone and their mother says to buy the parts, and put it together yourself, but that really just isn't an option for someone like me who is not particularly hardware-savvy.

Is this a good gaming pc build for the money it costs?: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883156313&cm_re=windows_7_16gb-_-83-156-313-_-Product

I was also looking at this one, but I really don't want Windows 8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220836

I'd be using this mainly for gaming. Would they easily run all of the new and upcoming games (Witcher 3, Fallout 4, etc) and also let me run stuff like fallout new vegas with an enb and a hundred different mods going?

Thanks is advance for any help you can give me.

This is exactly why I posted here. I didn't know enough about the hardware to make a really informed decision. Thank you for the link! So this should handle all the newer stuff easily? Witcher 3, GTA V, maybe Fallout 4 when it comes out?

Is there any way to get the same build with Windows 7? I'm really not a fan of Win8, and I've heard that there can be compatibility issues (and fps drop) with older games like Fallout New Vegas (which is one of my favorites).

Regardless, thanks again for helping me out!

Well, for a gaming PC, the most important component is the GPU, the one that I linked has a 970, this is very commonly known as the best deal for high quality 1080p gaming. The processor is a i5 4690k and is probably the most popular gaming CPU. The biggest problem I see with that computer is it appears to have a micro-ATX board, which limits upgrade ability, also the PSU is a bit sketchy.

It will be able to play all of those games, but it will not be able to max out Witcher 3 or GTAV 60fps, it is unknown about Fallout 4. Windows 7 also has problems with Fallout 3 and since New Vegas is a spin-off of it, I would assume the same trouble could be had. Yes you could install Windows 7 buy buying an install disc and installing it

So, if I wanted to get a better PSU (I've heard Corsair's are good, right?), and I wanted to be able to max these newer games and be (reasonably) safe for the near future, how much would that run me? Do you have a specific build in mind that you could link to?

I would actually get the XFX TS 550w, Corsairs lower end PSU's are not very good, and their good ones are overpriced. Witcher 3 takes multiple 980 Ti to max out even at 1080p, which just for the Graphics card would run you almost $1300, so that's kind of out of the question

I meant, if there is another pre-build that is a bit more expensive, but maybe has a less sketchy Power Supply, could you link to that? Is the Cougar SL600 known to have issues?

I don't see any without generic power supplies, for that you would probably have to go to a custom PC website... No the Cougar is not known to have issues because its not known in general, its a generic PSU so it is untiered and is probably about tier 4 hopefully not tier 5. It should be good but if your worried you could also replace it with a better one and if anything ever goes wrong, replace it with the old one before you send it back
