Would someone please suggest me which budget cpu to buy for gaming?

Should i go for intel or Amd?
I'm willing to buy amd's fx8350,but since i had gone through many sites they all tell intel is better for gaming.But in the cpu benchmark the fx 8350 beats out all the current intel 4th gen i5 processors.So shall i go for amd fx 8350 or is there a better processor for the same price?

FX is not a good choice. It does beat i5 in benchmarks but note these are not actual uses for the CPU.
The FX chips also require a more expensive motherboard from the Intel i5s.

How much do you plan to spend on mobo and cpu from your budget, since most important part for gaming is GPU then CPU.

Then better got with FX 8320 and aftermarket cooler like Raijintek Aidos.
Then you can OC and get better performance then with FX 8350.
You can easy achieve 4 Ghz with FX 8320 even with stock voltages, and with Aidos you will get lower temps and much much less fan noise that stock AMD cooler produce.

a 7 GHZ AMD FX chip will still be slower than an i5. Even if you could reach that clock.

If you can get i5 and z97 mobo with it.
It is overall better CPU.

The i5 for sure. Even a i3 beats the FX chips in games.
