Hi everyone,

I just changed my stock cooler of my G3258 to a Seidon 120V. The G3258 is slightly overclocked to 4.0 GHz with 1.2 vcore.

My temperatures are 34 at idle and 48-55 in full load. I find that quite high so I applied the thermal compound again and still the same. I think I might be doing something wrong.

Could anyone say if this is normal?

thank you.

This depends on many things - not all boxed liquid coolers are the same, but most are built similarly.

Also, don't confuse closed loop boxed coolers with normal watercooling loops. Pumps on loops are typically quieter, but usually run radiators with more fans, so it can be an offset of noise levels.

I saw some videos on youtube and some people were saying that they get 22 degrees on idle. I have tried to put another 120mm fan to do a push pull but that doesnt seem to help. With the cooler at 100% it never drops below 30s. I am not worried about the temperatures but I worry that I installed it wrong.

Too many variables that can affect temperatures. Ambient temperature has an influence. People saying without proof is meaningless especially on youtube.

I am using msi command center and intel extreme tuning utility. I guess it must be room temperature, I live in a hot country and I am running it without a case... By the way, do all water pumps make an irritating noise? I thought watercooling would be quiet.
