Cases with I/O Shield Included

Why do some cases (usually cheap ones) come with a I/O shield included? There's next to zero chance of it fitting any motherboard.

Because it costs them about $0.02 per, and they can include that in the advertising text.

Even if the case does, it does not matter. Just knock it out and use the I/O that comes with your motherboard.

I would say it doesn't matter since the motherboard (should) come with an i/o shield matched to the ports. Too many different configurations for a case to include one that's useful.
