I have a Toshiba laptop that I have been using fora long time. However, recently, it was lagging so much and it was't responding so I pressed the power off button. When I turned it on again, there was only a under-dash blinking on the top left corner. I did everything I can, and I managed to boot it into safe mode form a DVD. There, I tried to use system restore, but it says "please select a operating system", and I couldn't find my windows 7. I tried to take out my hard drive, put it in the freezer for 30 minutes, but it didn't work. Soon, I abandoned ship and came here for help.
It would be greatly appropriated if you guys can help me!

Hi there TheRoamer,

The HDD has most probably failed. :( Freezing it, has most probably damaged it further.
Apart from that, you can start with something simple as just attaching the drive with different cables to a different port.
In case the issue persists, you can either test the drive with some HDD testing tool for DOS or attach it externally to another system and test it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

I guess you can use some data recovery for DOS tool in order to retrieve the data as well.
