My Dell Inspiron 15R laptop from 2013 is not responding when I plug in the charger. I don't think the charger is broken, because I have two of them, and they both worked fine until this issue started taking place.

Normally, when I plug in the charger, a light on the laptop indicates that it is receiving power. Now, no light comes on, which leads me to believe that the connector itself is broken.

I'm not a hardware guy, so I could really use some help in opening this puppy up and knowing what to look for. Any help is appreciated.

The u-tube videos take you through the process on step at a time. What you are really looking for is the degree of difficulty involved. Not in taking the laptop apart but in replacing the connector. I have used u-tube as a guide on a number of laptops. A guide for your laptop can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmlDxcRdlnI. In your case it is easy as there is no soldering to be done. You can order your dc connector online and then complete the job. It helps to take pictures of when the small screws go. There is a 99% probability that the connector is the problem.

Ok, thanks, I'll take a look. Sorry for my sarcasm.

UPDATED: That video is a God send. It perfectly demonstrates the entire replacement process - thanks for finding that video for me. I will order the replacement DC jack and attempt the replacement. If it works, I'll mark your answer as the solution.
