Hello, I'm trying to install windows 7 but when I choose the drive to install it on it says "windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu." Next to the drive it also says unallocated but I plugged the drive into another computer and it isnt unallocated, the drive has one partition which is the size of the entire drive. I've tried updating the bios but the issue was not corrected. Online people with the same problem just had to set the sata controller to AHCI rather than IDE but mine is allready set to AHCI (the bios is set to default).

Solution
I'm so dumb haha, It just needed the AHCI drivers installed. I already tried that of couse but I just tried again and it worked right away. Anyway thanks for your help.

Yes, when I plugged the SSD into my other computer it worked just fine, I formatted it (NTFS) and made sure there was only one partition. I even installed ubuntu on the drive and tried booting it from the computer im currently building and it worked just fine so theres no hardware failure. And yes im trying to install windows 7 home premium with sp1, the iso I downloaded and used to make the usb installer says "en_windows_7_home_premium_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_676549"
