windows not recognizing full ram.

I've been using the same 2x2GB sticks for many years and I just bought an upgrade of 2x2GB extra identical sticks. The problem is that Windows doesn't recognize them. Windows will only recognize the full 8GB if I make memory setting change in the bios, ex: timings, volt, frequenzy etc. Once I restart the computer however, I'm back to my usualy 4GB memory. CPU-Z recognizes the full 8GB anytime...

I did the whole msconifg advanced routine and unchecked maximum memory. Didn't help...
