I recently reapplied my thermal paste with some arctic mx4 and it improved my temps alot, but when i try to overclock and add voltage my temps are muich higher than desirable and other people got much much better temps than i, here are my results:
44x multiplier, 1.25 vcore 93c under intel burn test
46x 1.25, 91c intel burn test
44x multiplier 1.2 volts, 87c intel burn test
46x multiplier 1.2 88c intel burn test
44x 1.16vcore 81c under intel burn test
please help quickly, i appreciate it

Solution
Your H100i isn't properly mounted. The high temperature indicates insufficient clamping pressure of the waterblock-pump assembly to the CPU's integrated heat spreader.

All cpus are not created equal unfortunately. Its possible you might need to try unlidding it to get better temps if you are certain you applied everything correctly.

It would of course void the warranty and might not provide better results.

well i have a corsair h100i and im sure thats more than enough to keep lower temps than this, other people reported less than 70 with higher voltage, i reaplied thermal paste again, didnt help at all, with pea sized amount, at 1.375 volts i get 100c which is ridiculous, im considering rmaing, because this cooler was designed to overclock anyway

yes i know its crazy ibt, but on ibt with my be quiet dark rock pro 3 at same voltage 1.2 with 4670k i only hit 70-71c so theres something fishy here

im running my 4690k at 4.2Ghz and 1.115v with an H80i Liquid Cooler! i mean these volts and low are its a good cooler! and i never had good temps on IBT any higher would result temps to reach 90c

What's your idle temp? whit upto 5 systems on simultaneously, room temp increase can affect temps alot, so I leave a terrace door open 1metre in front of tower, idle temp drops from 27C to 22C.
4.7ghz 1.224v Helps a lot as load increases - BF4 ultra tops out at 65C. 1hour IBT 87C (All Fans on Smart speed setting)
5ghz 1.365v - IBT 1hour 98C (All Fans always max), BF4 72C - Reverted to 4.7C when summer season came =P

When door used to always be closed, 4.8ghz saw 100C IBT 1hour... added 1x 140mm intake, 2x 120mm exhaust and now always leave windows open, door when OC/gaming. Case intake fans not much good if room temp is high

thank you for your help, i actually fixed it yesterday, like ko888 said correctly, it was mounted the wrong way, ifeel like such a fool for wasting your time, at 1.25 volts i now drop to around 86 degrees which is way better, but i am still confused as to why my be quiet dark rock pro 3 tops out at 81c at maximum under ibt, but atleast now my gaming temps, which is what really matter, will be much more desirable, but maybe the i7 causing extra heat? who knows, i can get on with overclocking finally!

yes i do actually agree, but i use it for two reasons, it pushes my cpu to its absolute limit (maximum stress level also uses a heck of alot of ram) and its quite quick and dirty stress, i only run 25 passes on maximum, and all my ocs have been stable for gaming, i dont like having to run p95 for 24 hours like 70 percent of people recommend...
