I have an AMD 990FXA-GD80 MSI motherboard and would like to know the best way to lower the heat sink fan rpm. If someone can show me where in the bios to do it or recommend a program I can download to control the speed that would be great. Thanks!

I would, but the ones I found were pretty complicated.

Just watch your "core temp" and find Speed01, Speed02, etc. On the ones that have some number > 0, adjust one to 0 and watch your core temp. If it is unchanged, put the SpeedXX back to where it was. Then, move on to the next one and repeat the process until you find which SpeedXX affects your core temp the most.

This is probably your CPU cooler fan speed. You can now control your CPU cooler fan speed.
Be careful that you monitor your temps if you are manually controlling its speed instead of letting the mobo do it for you.
