Hi,

I'm considering buying a Palit 980 Ti Super JetStream card as it has a factory overclock of 1152 mhz as well as it is probably the cheapest compared to other brands. I would prefer to get EVGA 980 Ti Classified but the price difference is around £100 ($155). I could get EK Titan X water block and a backplate which should fit Palit card for the money saved on gpu.

What do you guys think? I have never dealt with Palit therefore not sure if they are any good in terms of warranty, customer support, realiability, etc?

Also, I guess re-selling value of the Palit cards will be very low as it is not so well known brand, isn't it?

What do you guys think?

Thanks.

OP – and anyone else thinking of this purchase (though I appreciate the thread is a few days old)…

I’ve purchased this card from Scan.co.uk and have been using it for the last couple of days. Feel free to ask me anything.

Initial impressions are extremely positive but I’ll try and break it down.

Build and Packaging:

The card shipped in a fairly sturdy box with clear window (so you can see the card) and a basic driver disk etc. – not too many frills here consider the price tag but I’m probably being greedy. Oh – it does come with a sticker to put on your computer… which is nice!

The cards construction is brilliant – very sturdy and with a polished feel and finish to it. It’s certainly heavy but not ridiculously so. The card...

As far as I'm concerned EVGA is great in terms of warranty worldwide and installation of custom water blocks doesn't void a warranty but I haven't heard much about Palit warranty and reliability, this is a main reason for this topic.

The cards construction is brilliant – very sturdy and with a polished feel and finish to it. It’s certainly heavy but not ridiculously so. The card takes up 2 and a half ‘slots’ with the card installing into two but the cooler being large enough to render a third space unusable by anything else. It’s also a large card so be sure you have enough space to fit it in. It does require two power connectors but from a high end card, I wouldn’t expect much else.

Performance and Cooling:

As you’d expect – stupidly capable at everything I’ve thrown at it so far in 1080p – I’ve yet to try nVidia’s down scaling to replicate higher resolutions on the same monitor. GTA V runs very well with everything completely maxed out (on Windows 10, Xeon 1231v3, 16GB RAM running on an SSD). Same goes for Alien Isolation. I’ve had no issues at all.

Cooling seems more than capable too – the card runs with fans *off* half of the time including regular desktop usage as the cooling. When gaming they do come on but even then are pretty quiet and there’s no clear performance hit no matter what they’re doing.

I’d be happy to recommend this card completely – definitely worth getting.
