So when I built my computer, I was pretty low on cash and thought a stock CPU Cooler would hold up until I have some more money, I was wrong. When Playing games like Payday 2, the heatsink on the stock cooler gets very hot, to hot to hold your hand on for more than 10 seconds. Ive decided on a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. But the problem is, im using an old case I had laying around which has the power supply mounted on top above the the motherboard, Which means theres not much room. I have measured and the cooler should fit, But there will only be about an inch between the top of it, and the power supply fan, It would cover about half of the fan. Im wondering if that would be enough for the fan to breath. Thanks

Solution
What case?
I would not worry much, direct the airflow to the rear out the rear exhaust.

Or, look at the cryorig-H7 cooler. It is inexpensive, good, and is somewhat smaller than the 212 evo.
