After five years with my current PC, it's time to start looking for a new system. I plan on waiting until Windows 10 comes out before I buy.

A lot has changed in the 5 years since I last bought a PC, so I'm wondering what I should be looking for, given my needs. My primary uses will be web browsing, streaming video, Office work, and some minor audio/video editing.

I'm thinking I should be looking for at least a 4th gen i5 with 8 GB of RAM (possibly 12?), and a 1 TB+ hard drive.

Graphics: Will Intel 4600 graphics be good enough or is it worth the extra money to get a dedicated card? (the Nvidia GeForce GT 700 series seems like the primary alternative on a lot of sites)

I plan on keeping whatever I get for 3-5 years.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

You will have better graphics performance with an a-10 7850k for less cost, but they are not as fast. If you have windows 7, just upgrade it to windows 10 for free. What you said should be fine, but make sure to get a reliable power supply like corasir or evga.
