Hi, im having an issue with red and green flashing dots on my screen.. The weird part is that if I change the cable to a VGA cable (currently running with a DVI) the image is perfect. Any ideas?

Solution
DVI cables can go bad. Just get a new one if swapping it out fixed the problem. There's a lot of information traveling fast on those little wires and pins. So if anything bends too far or stretches, it will mess up. Lucky it wasn't your GPU, just a cheaper part. :-D

Try a different DVI cable. The one you have might have gone bad. If that doesn't work, it might be the actual DVI port on the GPU, so try using an HDMI. Get a converter if you need to, or just test with another monitor or TV.

I tried an HDMI to DVI cable (HDMI in gfx card and DVI in monitor) and but now there's only red dots. I borrowed a friends DVI cable and that solved it. But why does it do that?
