The following is the system I plan on building:

CPU: Intel Core I5 4590
GPU: MSI GTX 970
RAM: 1 Stick of Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
PSU: Corsair Vs550 550w
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Lga1150 ATX
HDD: WD 1TB Blue Drive

I know quite a bit about PCs so technical advice is welcomed, as the thread title states, would I be able to run most, if not all, modern games at high or maximum settings at 60 fps minimum. I will be running them at 1920 x 1080.

I plan on playing DayZ Mod, MGSV: TPP, BF3, The Forest, they seem like the most demanding games I plan on playing, so would I be able to run those at maximum settings. I also plan on creating scenes in UE4 and Unity 5, I know RAM may be an issue there, but I will be upgrading that later as I am on a slight budget, hence why I have used a single stick of RAM, rather than 2.

A GPU Recommendation or something that won't affect price to much but will increase performance would be helpful.

I will also experiment with game play recording for YouTube, so I may be doing some light editing on it as well, nothing too taxing though, so would my planned system be able to handle that well too.

Any recommendations are welcomed, but please keep in mind I have a budget of around £680. I currently am planning on buying my components from Amazon as I have found that to be the cheapest place, but If you know of a website that sell components at a decent price I would be happy to check it out, so please do recommend some places if you know of any, I live in the UK, so UK websites would be preferred.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
-its better to have two sticks of ram as they will run in dual channel and increase performance more than a single stick.
-1600mhz is slow for ram. (for non matx or mitx builds)
-the vs series psu is kind of lower quality and you could do better.
-you absolutely do not need a z97 board for a 4590. Z series are for overclocking. you want a h87 or h97.

Consider this build. All parts are from amazon. Red/Black theme with a windowed case.

I picked the z97 board as it was cheaper than all H87 and H97 boards I had seen, as for the RAM i will be upgrading later on to have more than one stick but due to my budget i could not include two sticks. Thanks.

I wasn't aware that this PSU was of bad quality, thanks for letting me know i will look into that, thanks.

take a look at my original post. i made a more reasonable build for you. I kept it at 711 £ and i included a case which you didnt have in your original post.

also, it is not recommended to add a stick of ram down the road. it is never guaranteed two separately manufactured sticks of ram will work together. thats why they sell them in sets. wait till you have money for both imo.
