My task manager shows disk usage at 100%even when at 1.0MB/s when it also shows 100% at 60MB/s

Hi there Zezill,

In case you are using Windows 8.1, you can try disabling several Windows Services like Superfetch, Windows Search and BITS: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2027511/windows-disk-usage-100-problem.html

In case the issue persists, it may be a good idea to back up the data stored on the drive. After that, you can test it with some of these tools: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
Something simple as just attaching the HDD with different cables to a different port will not hurt as well.
