My computer stopped working a couple of months ago and I finally got around to replacing the HDD (Acer Aspire M5811). After installing the HDD and installing Windows I went to go put the other 3 sticks of RAM in (3/4 of them were taken out over a month ago whilst I was troubleshooting the machine) and the computer didn't start. It makes a long continuous beep and the first time it did it there was a weak burning smell. What should I do? I read online that it's a problem with my RAM so I tried reseating it all and there is no combination of sticks and slots that works. I've taken out my GPU so the machine should only be using the onboard GPU. I'm tempted to go buy another stick of ram to test what the problem is but I thought I'd ask here first.
Broken RAM or RAM slot? Continous beep and wont turn on.
