Asus maximus vi Extreme A2 code Error

Hi, first excuse me for my bad english
I bought a new water cooler and SSD for my system, and after installing them my motherboard stuck on A2 code and black screen and it won't boot.

Before this problem I was using the stock fan. My cpu is i7 4790k , ram Geil enhance corsa 4*2 GB 1600 , VGA Sapphire 6970. I updated the bios already but the problem is still present.

What is the problem???

I'd start by checking everything at the following link:

And double check that none of the RAM was knocked loose and that both the 4+4 CPU and 24 pin power connectors are firmly seated in the motherboard sockets. Make sure the graphics card is completely seated and that all power connections are secured from the PSU to the card.

A2 means its not finding your hard drives on the CPU controlled ports.

Make sure your hard drive(s) or SSD are on the CPU controlled SATA ports. They should be color coded, and there should be 6 of them all the same color.

I do a lot of reading find some of these things. It is impossible to remember the error codes for all of these brands and products ... And sometimes, there might be the possibility the internet could be wrong! :lol:

I'd try disconnecting all hard drives EXCEPT the boot drive, from the motherboard, and see if it still throws the code. It may be related to the older drive still having a boot partition from the old OS installation, especially if you didn't delete the existing partitions on the old HDD.

It could also be that if you left the old HDD connected to the same SATA port and used a different one for the SSD, that you're using a secondary SATA port for your boot drive which often causes issues. Use SATA ports 0 or 1 for your SSD.
