Doing as the title says but I am confused about how to do this exactly.
At the moment my windows 7 ult is installed on my 2TB HDD and will be installing the SSD too but I want the OS on the SSD with a few games and the rest on the HDD.
Is there a way to transfer the OS over to the SSD or do I need to wipe the HDD, set the boot/OS device as the SSD then put all the files back onto the HDD.
(Also are there any good tutorials to do this?)

For best performance your better off doing a clean install, also you can only migrate if you if your current drive has about 200gb used or less.

Plug the ssd in and leave the hdd out. Install windows and then connect your hdd. You will just need to ensure the ssd is first in the boot order otherwise it will try and boot from your hdd. Once in windows you can figure out what you want to do with your hdd
If the existing OS partition on the HDD is more than twice the size of the SSD's capacity (ie more than 500GB) you won't be able to simply transfer or migrate the OS partition on to the SSD - - for the simple reason is won't fit, not even if you first "shrink" the existing OS partition (because 500GB or more won't shrink down to 250GB).

In that case you will have to install Windows 7 from scratch on to the SSD using your Windows 7 installation DVD.
