I am having this issue all on a sudden in my 4 year old PC. After I start my system, it boots as usual, monitor turns on after single beep and proceeds to load the OS. However it turns off after 1 minute or so, irrespective of what the current state of the system is (starting OS, prompting password, even in BIOS). Even the power LED in the monitor turns off i.e. it doesn't show running (green) or idle (orange), but turns off as if the monitor is not getting power. This happens every time I start the system.
I tried disconnecting the components (graphics card, RAM etc) and reconnecting them, but it didn't work. What can be the source of this problem? Is it the monitor or the graphics card? Or something else?

Edit: One strange observation - after the monitor turns off, if I shut down the system (by long pressing the power button in cabinet) and wait for a while, the monitor power LED turns on to report idle (orange).

I don't have a spare monitor and all my friends use laptops. :(
I'm pretty sure it's not going to sleep as I had set it to never go to sleep/turn off monitor and it was working great till a week ago.
I have ESET Smart Security installed. It didn't bug me with any notification before the problem started. TBH I assumed it's probably a hardware issue and didn't try scanning. Unfortunately the monitor won't stay active long enough for me to start a scan. I can barely login to Windows before it goes off. (I was wrong about timing. I have updated the post.)
