Hey I hear that the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 can actually run FX-9590 for a short while are there any risks to the CPU besides the obvious risks to the motherboard? and is it possible to under clock the 9590 so that I could say that it will run for say at least 6 months till i can afford a replacement?
Please note I did not intend to buy this mobo but I did mean to buy 990FXA But because of the Website i bought it from listed it wrongly
and wont accept a return since i removed the plastic packaging

Why bother?

With good air (or water) the GB 990xa-ud3 will push an Fx-83xx CPU to 4.5GHz or more ...

edit: If you already have the FX-9590, you should try to return it. It is simply not worth the potential damage it could do to your motherboard and any other components.

I really cant make any changes. In theory I can still make this motherboard run the FX-9590 for fairly long if I keep its wattage lower than 140w by how much would I have to underclock?
