XFX r9 280x stops responding after game start up

Every time I start up a game, i get taken to the desktop and it gives me the message your display driver has stopped working but has recovered. Browsers work fine its just games. My computer worked fine yesterday because i reinstalled windows for the second time.

Do you have the latest drivers for your 280x?

I have tried the 15.7 and it did not help so I went to an earlier one. 14.12

Have you tried using integrated graphics or another discrete card? Did you come across the same problem?

Try doing a clean install of new drivers with your 280x. Use DDU to make sure the old drivers are completely uninstalled.
