So i built a water cooler out of a washing machine, car radiator, some tubes and a stock cooler with few holes in it... it works well but the problem is the pump. It gets really hot in a short time but keeps working 100%. I'm afraid that it might someday brake due to the overheating, so will it be fine and is it normal to heat up as it is dc 230volt 50watts pump? Average temperature=cant touch it for long time.

Are you running that pump off your PSU?

I'm curious what you are using for a CPU block- looks like some Intel heatsinks with some sort of pipe...but is that correct?

Are you running this without fans on that radiator?

What did all those parts cost you?

No, its not from PSU. The CPU "block" is basicly stock cooler with 8mm holes which has and metal tube stuck in to keep pressure in.

Also there isn't yet any fans on the rad but i have 4x 120mm fans waiting to be installed on it (push>pull configuration).

And the parts cost me nothing. I got the washing machine pump from a broken one and the radiator i got from my friend. Only the glues, tubes and sealants cost me about 30 bucks.

Not bad. Guessing you just kind of drilled 2 holes into the stock heatsink to connect the flow path? What kind of CPU temps are you getting?

If you think the pump is too hot, I would try to find its acceptable running temp and then see what yours is at. Or just point a case fan at it and forget about it.

Temp on idle is 30celsius (room temp 22celsius). And on stress: BF3 Ultra 1080p Antalishing maxed it gets to around 50-60celsius. Im pretty proud of it since im not experienced with cooling and water proofing the system (no leaks yet in 48h)

And i think i fixed the pump issue by installing old GPU cooler (30mm x 30mm) directly on the heating metal cover.
