I have an AMD FX-9590 220-watt CPU. My buddy blew up his MB when adding a custom water cooling system so he could overclock some more and it leaked and fried his MB.

He decided to go Intel and he gave me the CPU to sell for him on eBay and I wanted to get an inexpensive board that supports this chip for testing.

I can't seem to find any boards that officially support 220 watts. I have found a few that say they support 9590, but they are all over a $100.

Anyone know of an inexpensive motherboard that fully supports this FX-9590 so I can test this CPU?

The FX-9590 is the biggest embarrassment of a cpu in the last few years. It overheats like no other and requires you to buy an expensive 220w mobo.

No there are no cheap $60 mobos that can support this cpu. You can always try used or refurb mobos.

There aren't any. The lower cost AM3+ boards don't even support the standard 8320, only the e version which runs at 95w. Unfortunately in making the most overstressed to hell AMD chip they could (Its technically an overclocked to the gills 8370) they also limited it to only the most powerful AM3+ motherboards you can get.

Yep the 9590 ranks up there with Intels Preshot! Pentium 4 chips really hot and double as a space heater in the winter lol. Both sides have had embarrassments in the past.
Opps spelled the intel Pentium 4 Prescot as presshot! lol but that's what they called them ....

Except the cheap boards generally support 95w let alone 125w which is the base wattage if you really downclocked it to what its based off of (8370). And the BIOS won't support it either. This would be a waste of money

I just wanted to add something you might consider -- three+ weeks back I started spec'ing a build and I've always loved the underdog so I decided I'd go AMD ... I quickly settled on the biggest baddest mofo they sold, the FX 9590 and went from there. I spent the next week or two being schooled how bad a decision I was making and have decided to go with an i7-4790K and other components. I understand you got what you got and will do what you will do, but I heartily suggest you NOT consider ANYTHING about your search for components with the "inexpensive" caveat, you have an extremely over-board type of CPU that needs plenty of power-capacity parts. You want to OVER-build around it, and that means giving it plenty of ability to run cooler, less critical power draining etc.

I found a great Gigabyte board for $149.99 I was going to use. I would not have even considered something below about $120 or so, because you just can't risk it with that chip. I would love to be able to say I bought it and everything worked out amazingly etc. but I have to bet (my money) with my head not my heart. In your case you already have it so I definitely suggest OVER-building around it rather than economy-building around it. Just my throw-awy thoughts for your consideration.
