I need the PCIE Bios settings to enable CrossFireX support in 8X on this MOBO with 2 Asus Radeon HD 7790 HD7790-DC2OC-2GD5 Video Cards. The information on the ASUS site for the settings of the SR5670 Chip/PCIE Configuration and SP5100 are not explained. Be aware that the photo of the slots in the manual, (page 2-23), is CORRECT!!! The description of the slots on page xi of the manual and on the website are WRONG!!! PCIE slots for this MOBO are Slot 1 16X Gen2 (when solo), Slot 3 8X Gen2 , Slot 5 4X Gen 2.
Here is a link for the AMD SR5670 Data sheet: http://support.amd.com/TechDocs/44549.pdf
Here is a link for the AMD SP5100 Data sheet: http://support.amd.com/TechDocs/44409_sp5100_ds_pub_1.70.pdf

Hardware is as follows:

ASUS KCMA-D8 MOBO BIOS 3303- ATX - Socket C32 - 2 CPUs supported - AMD SR5670/SP5100 - 2 x Gigabit LAN - onboard graphics
Ultra X4 Modular 1050-Watt ATX Power Supply V2 - 1050W, 135mm Fan, ATX, 80+ Silver, Active PFC, Nvidia SLI, ATI Crossfire X,
(2) AMD OS4226WLU6KGUWOF Opteron 4226 Socket C32 Processor - 6 Core, Socket C32, B2, 2700 Frequency, 6400 Bus Speed, 95W
(2) Asus Radeon HD 7790 HD7790-DC2OC-2GD5 Video Card 2GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0 (x16), Overclocked
4X8 32 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport Memory Module - DDR3, PC3-10600, DIM, 1333MT/z, CL9, 240 Pin, 1.5V, Unbuffered, Non ECC (BLS8G3D1339DS1S00)
(2) LG WH14NS40 14X Blu-Ray Burner - SATA, 4MB Buffer, 3D Playback, OEM

I understand the Bios settings are wrong. Does anyone know how to correctly configure these BIOS settings? I do not want to fry the Board with wrong setting.
Any help is appreciated!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance

Server motherboards generally do not support things like SLI and crossfire. This one in particular does not no matter what you do:

https://www.asus.com/us/Commercial_Servers_Workstations/KCMAD8/

Just because the chipset that the board is based on can have that feature, does not mean the feature is setup or enabled on the board.

I understand that this board is not CrossfireX certified. I keep finding threads on various websites about this board running CrossfireX, but they are from 2 or 3 years ago and no one is still an active poster. I have gleaned enough information to figure out that it is a matter of using the BIOS setting to set PCIE Slot 1 and Slot 3 to run in 8X mode prior to installing the OS, then perform OS install, then install CCC, install second card and CF connector and enable Cossfire X in CCC. This is what I have hardware wise so I have to make the best of the situation. Thank you for taking the time to reply

Ok I bit and did some research. I found a bunch of people who assumed Crossfire would work however I could not find a single instance of someone actually doing it. A lot of people do talk about it and I think they assume (incorrectly) that the multiple PCIe slots will allow it. I'd gladly help if you can show me otherwise but nothing I see indicates to me that anyone has ever gotten this to work.

First off Rogue let me once again thank you. If you check on Newegg.com under this MOBO Craig C. verified that he got Cossfire up and running. Pity there is no way to contact him directly. Part of the reason there may be a lack of workarounds is that ASUS has no detailed info on these settings. Its why I found the AMD data sheet. I am going to verify the settings and will post once I have them all.

I did some more research and found people using cards in crossfire and no mention of changing settings in the BIOS. They seem to say that you need to set it all up and then uninstall and reinstall CCC. Have you tried it yet and its not working?

Hi Rogue tried the ASUS drivers, tried the AMD drivers, tried one card in slot one then in slot 3. I know its the BIOS from the AMD literature. IOMMU is disabled but can be enabled. IOMMU allows communication between SP5100 chip and SR 5670 chip. So I first need to set up the PCIE slots settings, then the Hyper Transport mode, then enable IOMMU
I have pics in my google drive, here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4Q5L4DHJOFvflN...
Thanks
