Hi guys. I'm upgrading my PC so i need some help with the components.
I decided i'm going to buy a i7 4790K, Msi Gtx 970 and the Msi z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard.
So as i said, these components mentioned above are the new ones..so the old ones i already have are: Thermaltake Dokker case, Western Digital Caviar Black WD 1002FAEX ( 3.5", SATA III), OCZ ModXStream Pro 600 W, KINGSTON 8GB DDR3 1333 MHz ( 4x2GB)
I just want to be sure that all the mentioned components will be compatible with each other and that my PC will work.

I will appreciate all the answers, thanks guys!

Thanks for answering N3rdR4ge.
I wrote that i've got kingston 4gb x2 ( so that's 8gb), but you didn't see it probably (i probably should have written 8gb kingston 4x2..but nvm, my bad)
I don't plan upgrading my RAM yet, cuz i think 8 gb is quite enough for gaming. And the ram speed doesn't affect much on the game fps or something like that, i mean faster is always better, but there's no much difference in 1333 Mhz and 1866 Mhz as far as i know...correct me if i'm wrong ;)

ah yea i missed that. as long as you have 8gb you're golden.

So everything will be fine? I can go ahead and buy all these stuff? Is my case compatible with the motherboard and is my PSU 600 W enough for everything? And btw which air cooler would you recommend me for my CPU?

600w is fine!

case is compatible.

just go with a basic cm hyper 212 evo. its more than enough.

you dont really need the i7 unless you are rendering or something very cpu intensive. look here at bottleneck guide.

id recommend an i5-4690k if you are just gaming. its more than enough for a gtx 970. you could buy better ram for that 100 bux.

Thanks a lot man
I've read a lot about the i5 and i7, and heard that the 4690k is just enough for gaming, and that the 4790k wont improve the gaming that much, it has hyperthreading so it speeds up rendering and that stuff a lot, i actually do a little bit of video editing, but that's nothing proffesional, just for fun, but i'd like to have some things open in the background while gaming ( for example some music, fb, twitter, streaming with obs), so that's why i went for the 4790k. Hope i didn't make some mistake.

if you already bought it and it will improve rendering noticeably. it doesnt hurt to have the extra power. you wont see any noticeable difference in most games maybe an average of +/- 5fps. the 4690k is not "just enough" it is way more than enough for modern enthusiast gaming. whoever told you that is incorrect. I wouldnt say you made a mistake. you may have just overspent on a more power than you need, especially if you are only rendering occasionally for fun. ram is going to make the difference with background apps, not really one of these modern processors.

I don't think the i7 4790 will bottleneck my gtx 970, i looked here at your bottleneck guide, both my gpu and cpu are tier 1, so i guess it should work pretty fine. I know that an i5 4690k would be kinda enough too, but i'm not doing anything bad by going for a i7 4790k right? I mean i can upgrade my gpu at any time if needed..and meanwhile in the same time i'm just securing myself for the CPU in the next few years ( i think it's more future proof than the i5 4690k)

So should i go with the i5 4690k and upgrade my RAM to 16 gb, or go with the i7 4790k and stay with 8gb?
Or should i maybe got with the i5 and stay at 8gb and spare some money?

Oh yea..so..if i don't have a ssd already where do you think my os/programs are installed? They're probably all on my hdd, i mean...what i wanted to say, is it so necessary to buy a ssd?
