Hi, new PC builder. Just got it running yesterday. I'm having some issues with it already and don't know what to do.

I'm using my old computer's Hard Drive because it contains all of my data and also contains Windows 8. I have a 1TB Hard Drive, which I bought a week ago planning to transfer my data once I get it running. (I don't fancy spending £80 for a new OS) So when I turned it on, everything was as I left it, all my files were there.

I tried playing a few games, each with an appalling frame rate: 3fps.

I installed the Drivers which came with the Motherboard and Graphics card and now it can barely open folders without freezing.

I tried installing the most recent Driver for my graphics card online but it displayed "NVIDIA Installer Failed" after about 5 minutes (20%/ or so).

When I mean the computer is running slowly, I really mean it's running slowly.
Why on earth has the drivers made it worse?

I've put over £800 into this computer and it can't even browse the web, let alone play games.

Specs:

MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 ATX Motherboard (PCI-E, Socket AM3+)

Crucial BLS2C4G3D1609ES2LX0CEU 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Ballistix Sport 2 x 4 GB modules

AMD FX8320 Black Edition 8 Core

Asus Nvidia Gtx 960 PCI-E Graphics Card

Your old HD was setup with Windows for it, drivers, config, etc. Now you jsut plugged it in, and it's trying to use it's old setup on a hardware it's not configed for.

Rarely do swaps go well unless the hardware between the 2 PC's is very similar.

What would you suggest I do? Is there any way for me to transfer my Windows 8 from the old Hard Drive to the new one? I am really out of pocket now, I have literally no money to spend. Especially for something like a new OS.

The OS came preinstalled with the computer, if I had a disc I've no idea where it could be. I keep my stuff neat, if I had one it would be with my CDs (which it isn't).

You could just get an ISO file of it and then recover the key but I personally don't know if the key will work.
Also perhaps you want to drink some rum and sail the seven seas?
