I recently built a computer and it will freeze. I am thinking that I do not have a good enough heatsink for the CPU, after running it for 24hrs+ the UEFI BIOS gave a cpu temp. reading of 51 C That seems high for just idling. In my experience if a computer is overheating it has always shutdown, never froze.

MOBO: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+
CPU: AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7GHz Socket AM3+ 220W
Heat sink: Arctic Freezer 7 Prov2 77 (Only rated for 150 Watts I know but I had to get something quick and this was the only thing available.)

ya, your cooler is no where good enough for that CPU. As well, your case should have good airflow as VRM's, etc, are working like a dog powering that CPU.
