Ok so i got a hew h110iGT corsair cpu watercooler. After the install. Double checked all wires.. I start up and instantly get smoke from under the pump...immediately cut power and inspected..after inspecting everything i found a cable tgat didnt look right.. All it was, was power for for one of the LEDs in the pump. Unplugged it and retried.. Computer actually booted and went into repair mode.. So i let it run and after 10 minutes, screen went black. After another 10 min of running on black screen i restarted and now it wont do anything but power cycle itself on and off...

I removed 3 of 4 of my ram and tried again, nothing, unplugged the new cooler to see if it was a power issue and still same result..the LEDs on the mobo light up, fans on gpu spin fine.. Still cant tell if its the mobo or cpu.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I have not, but i did unplug the new cooler and attempted to boot it with no cooler. Same result.

I removed everything to inspect, and i dont see any black residue from the smoke at all..

Also after removing the cpu and reinstalling it, the boot loop stopped and now theres just no picture

So i realized the 1 stick i was booting with didnt click in all the way.. Derp. Also removed cmos battery and installed 1 card, stock cooler, and gpu. Got to startup repair so thats a good sign...

Gigabyte z97 gaming. I5 4690k trident x ram 650w naxn psu. Msi r9 390x gpu

So i just smelt the actual pump, and i think thats what popped... It reaks of that smell

So i got out up and running rein switching back to stock cooler loading with one stick and clearing cmos.. Guess it was just a bad cooler.. Didnt think that would keep it from not booting
