Long story short I've created a bootable Windows 7 USB (which I have done many times before) and I've tried to reformat/nuke its 500gb hdd about 5 times now, all of which results in a Win7 install with Lenovo OEM remnants all over it. The lock screen is a Lenovo branded, unchangeable (except through registry) background, it has OEM sounds for things such as pressing back in windows explorer, etc etc etc. I've attempted to located hidden OEM partitions, I've tried different versions of the windows install and right now I am completely lost as to what is the problem.

Any sort of insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Might be. I wouldn't suggest anything else unless I know that it does the same thing on 8 or 10. In your case I would just install windows 10.

Sure did. For a little bit I actually had the main partition along with a 100mb partition of unallocated space which I couldn't delete (and had no idea what it was), but a bit of CMD diskpart work got rid of that.

Yea I am. I was going to try a Windows 8 install but it doesn't really bother me.

I know Lenovo is really slippery about these things but what I don't understand is how it keeps restoring back to the settings and images that it wants. Unless it has something to do with the BIOS?
