I currently have three storage drives: One with Win 8.1 (sda), one that's split between Kubuntu and storage for Windows (sdb), and a recently added one that I installed Mint 17.2 on (sdc). When installing C I left the other two unplugged so it doesn't bring me to GRUB or appear on GRUB on the other drives.

I'm getting rid of Kubuntu - easy enough - but will a simple GRUB update from Mint be enough that I can boot from either sda or sdc and get to GRUB with Windows and Mint, or do I need to mess around to get sda working the way I want?

Solution
Set your BIOS to boot from Mint (sdc). Run 'sudo update-grub'. This script will automagically find the windows installation and add it to the GRUB bootloader list.
